Food: Greenling's "Best Of" Soiree Is Thursday Evening

Greenling, which has won the Austin Chronicle's "Best Local Food Company in Austin" for four years now, is throwing a "Best of Austin" Bash this Thursday at the Hummingbird House (another Chronicle "Best of" winner) from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Admission is free.

The evening includes a buffet-style potluck with appetizers, sides, entrees, desserts and drinks from local restaurants, vendors and chefs. Guests are encouraged to share their best potluck dish (made with local food, natch) and a copy of the recipe, which will be voted on for inclusion in Greenling's upcoming cookbook. The dish with the most votes will win a free Greenling "local box" filled with local and seasonal organic or sustainable produce.

While you're chowing down, meet with the local farmers who will be celebrating with Greenling to talk about their products and the benefits of eating sustainable foods.

Greenling delivers a wide range of local and organic groceries, from Full Quiver cheese to Bastrop Cattle Company beef to Dai Due pickled watermelon rind, right to your doorstep.
