Show Preview: James Arthur's Manhunt at Trailer Space Records

Throw on a tie-dye t-shirt, grab your cowboy boots, and slap on your space helmet for tonight's show at Trailer Space Records. With James Arthur's Manhunt, Air Traffic Controllers, and the Golden Boys on the bill, the performance is sure to be as psychedelic and otherworldly as it is desolate and twang-tinged.

James Arthur has a lot of musical acts on his resume, including experience as the former drummer of openers the Golden Boys, but his Manhunt project highlights one of his finer talents - creating entrancing walls of noise. On record, his jam sessions start off with comfortingly intimate lo-fi sounds, like the hiss of a four-track recorder or the hum of an amp, and then explode into spacey waves of riffs that betray just the right amount of deserted, western influence. Live, the music should be a mesmerizing, ear-tickling experience, and the Air Traffic Controllers will fit right in with their own complementary brand of instrumental noise. The Golden Boys will open the night with more conventional sounds - namely, songs with vocals and choruses - but their country-colored rock, folk, and punk tunes will provide a feel-good start to the night.
