If you think that all Young Adult fiction is just an edgy girl with an edgy girl name (Clary, Asilinn, Ever) that has a power/latent power (seeing faeries, reading auras, or something to be revealed in book 3 of the series) who meets a dangerous, tall/dark/handsome boy and makes unending pop culture references, well, you might be right. But if you didn't even know that much and had to have your friend Brittany break it down for you (like we did), then you might want to get over to BookPeople tonight to learn a little something from six of the bestselling authors in the genre.

The Smart Chicks Kick It Tour will feature a panel discussion and book signing with Melissa Marr (Wicked Lovely), Rachel Caine (Morganville Vampires), Kelley Armstrong (Darkest Powers), Holly Black (The Curseworkers and Spiderwick Chronicles), Cassandra Clare (Infernal Devices series) and Alyson Noel (The Immortals series). Sounds like it might be time to let your inner thirteen year old decide how you spend your evening, which begins at 7PM.
