2010 Fun Fun Fun Fest Update [November / Waterloo Park]

We’ll admit that we were pretty content with the prospect of catching legends like Bad Religion, DEVO, Slick Rick, “Weird Al” Yankovic, and Suicidal Tendencies all in one weekend during this year’s Fun Fun Fun Fest. But we had a feeling that there was more to come. Today, the festival today announced the addition of quite a few new artists to its 2010 lineup. We’re especially excited that influential, innovative pop outfit The Apples in stereo will be a part of the revelry this November. The band was at the forefront of the Elephant 6 collective scene back in the day. Earlier this year, they dropped their seventh record, the unfailingly impressive Travelers in Space and Time. We’re also pleased to see local Queen tribute band Magnifico in the mix. If you haven’t caught this spectacle yet, you’re in for something special. Toddy Barry, Chris Hardwick, Andy Ritchie, Shane Mauss, Terp2it, Moshe Kasher, and Sean Patton round off the updated bill.

There’s more! More of those typically intriguing activities we’ve come to expect from the Fun Fest folks, that is. The Austin Facial Hair Club Bearded Kissing Booth, Alamo Drafthouse’s Pancake Video Jukebox, and a live Tesla Coil show by Arc Attack are some of the new attractions added to this year’s edition.

Like last year, the Fun Fest gurus want you to show your love for the festival, be it via playful interactions with the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue or getting the festival logo branded on your private parts. We’ll just have to wait a little longer to see the list of eccentric endeavors included in this year’s to-do-list since that manuscript is still being finalized. Sign up for the Scavenger Hunt here. And bring your A-game this October (dates TBA) for a chance to win rewards like VIP passes, merchandise, opportunities to hang with artists, limo rides, and more.

Finally, single day passes and student discounts launched today as well -- get ‘em here.
