Composers of epic, scream-along songs full of heart and the expelling of lungs, Titus Andronicus are a New Jersey five-piece who are hitting Emo's outside stage tonight. The band's latest album The Monitor came out on XL Recordings this spring, which is described by Wikipedia as "a concept album loosely based on themes relating to the American Civil War." Heavy.
Joining Titus are locals YellowFever, who have recently completed a long summer tour and are back in town recuperating. We have an interview with the band coming up, in which they tell us about name drama, airport drama, and discuss their Bermuda Triangle EP as well as a second full-length album. Fellow Austinites Whitman round out the bill with their big, hook-filled and Hold Steady-indebted pub rock.
