Giveaway: Hot Hot Heat at Emo's Tonight
Remember Hot Hot Heat? Those synth-driven garage punks from the beginning of the decade? Yeah, those are the ones--the guys who put out "Make Up the Breakdown," that album of jagged, witty hooks that made waves in the indie and mainstream worlds alike with songs like "Bandages." After signing to Warner Brothers, Hot Hot Heat disappeared for a few years, and the couple of albums they released mostly fell by the wayside. But "Future Breeds," released on indie label Danger Birds this year, sees the band returning with a revitalized intensity that's sure to get you moving to the beat.
Whether or not you were a fan of the band's past work, "Future Breeds" is nothing to scoff at. From the off-kilter acoustic jangle of "21@12" to the quirky carnival romp of "Times a Thousand," Hot Hot Heat proves how criminal Warner Brothers' neglect was. The album is frantic, pulsating, and full of an adrenaline-pumping spitfire fury.
But you don't have to hear the album to find out for yourself. Enter the contest below for a chance to win tickets to see Hot Hot Heat, along with Newfoundland's power-poppers Hey Rosetta!, at Emo's tonight.
