Coldtowne Theater Seeks New Space, Holds Improv Fantasy Draft
Over the past several years, ColdTowne Theater has been steadily expanding its weekly comedy offerings to the point now that there are improv, sketch and stand-up shows every night Thursday through Monday, with most nights having three or four different shows. ColdTowne Theater has been located snugly next to and below I Luv Video at 4803 Airport Boulevard.
However, they are now looking to relocate in order to alleviate some of their growing pains. The theater has launched a donation drive on fundraising website Kickstarter, and in a more thematically-appropriate way to raise money, they’re hosting an improv tournament on Saturday Augustl 28th, starting at 6 pm. They’re calling the tournament the Improv Fantasy League (IFL) and they’re pairing up their students with house-troupe members and alumni in an all-night tournament showcasing both their best talent and the up and coming.
It may be among some of the last chances one has to catch shows at ColdTowne Theater’s current incarnation on Airport Boulevard.
