We've been leaving you breadcrumbs for weeks about artists that we know are performing at Fun Fun Fun Fest this year, and the time has finally arrived to deliver the whole enchilada.

This year we aren't just announcing the band performing on Saturday and Sunday at Waterloo Park, we're also announcing something entirely new for Graham Williams and the rest of the crew at Transmission. This year, the festival actually starts on Friday night at 6 p.m. -- and it's not just some random party. No, the good folks at the festival have secured none other than Weird Al Yankovic for Friday evening, complete with his unbelievable production and stage show. Yankovic did come to Austin to support a Alamo-hosted screening of UHF at the Paramount which was incredibly successful, but we haven't ever had a chance to catch his performance show before. It will undoubtedly be an evening to remember.

Besides that, festival promoters are excited to reveal the rest of their headliners for 2010, which include Wavves, MGMT, Devo, Dirty Projectors, Os Mutantes, Deerhunter, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Best Coast, Appleseed Cast, Bad Religion, GWAR, Suicidal Tendencies, Mastodon, Snapcase, RJD2, Cold Cave and many more. • Amazing lineup as usual...

    Transmission kept it under $100 before the taxes/fees

    -I mean DEVO + Weird Al at the same Fest!

    all before fees/taxes:

    2010=$94.50

    2009=$67.50

    2008=$59.99

    2007=$54.00

    2006=$20.00

    *Well, worth the increase in my opinion.

    AND they always announce a few more bands, from what I remember?

    I would say dump MGMT before Weird Al. MGMT is waaaay overpaid.

    I will always go to this fest, it is the Red River "buffet of music". THX Transmission

    My Top 5:

    1 Weird Al

    2 Devo

    3 High on Fire

    4 FLOOR!!!

    5 Monotonix

    and if I want I can stop in on Os Mutantes or Dam-Funk

    or these two bad@ss throwbacks

    Suicidal Tendencies and Slick Rick (performing Great Adventures Of...)

    ColSanders,

    thanks for maning up to the task of finding out the prices every year. So there was a very significant jump this year and just a small increase from year to year before. However, where are the $94.50 tickets?? On their website I went to yesterday I saw tickets listed for $112 as the lowest price. I still think that $94 is a tad much but saving that $20 maybe be enough to get me to avoid just trying to sneak in.

    Oh, and thanks for being excited about Floor playing. I told my friend that was "kinda a big deal" but I'm not sure he believed me so thanks for validating that for me.

    The $94.50 is before the taxes/fees which is how it gets to $112.

    I also thought I saw/read somewhere that the $94.50 (or $112, whichever) is the 3 day pass (including Weird Al on Friday).. and there's a "normal" Saturday/Sunday only pass for less. It may have been in the official press release.

    Regardless, it's a pretty solid lineup. I was crossing my fingers for Faith No More, but that's the only thing "missing" to me.

    Wow, looks like the FFF fest is going to be great again this year with some real impressive names. However, WTF with the ticket price??!! Someone help me remember how much tickets were last year. I think I paid around 65 dollars and now tickets are 120 dollars. Prices doubled in one year. I mean, don't get me wrong, the price you pay and the entertainment you get are not out of proportion but one of the really big appeals for me at the FFF fest was the type of bands playing and the very affordable ticket price. The price is now creeping up towards ACL prices. Shit, just dump Weird Al off the show and don't have anyone perform that Friday is it'll keep costs down. Anyway, just wondering if anyone out there knows exactly what the prices were last year(and the years before that for that matter).

    JR.

    I couldn't agree more!! Who cares about weird Al!?! it certainly isn't worth double the price. I think, aside from Devo, the whole thing is kinda lame. Gwar is tired, Bad Religion hasn't been good for 20 years and Suicidal? Really? Who knew those guys were still alive? Municipal Waste is always good but they come through every year and will probably play a club anyway. I hope they guy who said there's a regular 2 day pass is correct.
