Sunset Prepping Release of Loveshines...

Bill Baird doesn't stay quiet for long. Just when you think he might be taking some kind of break, he resurfaces and you realize he's actually been very hard at work somewhere on new material, be it music or writing. In October, Autobus will release the 2xLP version of Loveshines But The Moon Is Shining Too, and if you'd like, you can sample "Late Night Dawning" to get a feel for what to expect. We've heard the entire record and it's wonderful -- stay tuned for a complete review in September (that's when the digital release date is).

Our friends at Aquarium Drunkard in LA just ran a really compelling piece about Austin's little savant-that-could. It's a feature called "Diversions", and it's a unique glimpse into the lives of artists. Each feature allows the artist to talk about things he or she is interested in aside from the musical bits. Baird offers lots of insight into his love of writing, explaining his process during his recent work with Austin Bat Cave. He says, "I enjoy examining the worst possible writing. One notes common pitfalls which beset all us writers to a greater or lesser degree, plus you laugh a lot. On that note, let us take a moment to discuss that wart of modern songwriting, Aerosmith. At the risk of offending lovers of modern classic rock, I think Aerosmith incapable of writing a good song anymore. There I said it."

Head over to Autobus for all the latest news and tour dates for Sunset (they're on the west coast right now). Follow the jump to watch the video for "Loveshines II".
