African American Book Festival at the Carver Library and Courtyard

Tomorrow, the Carver Library is hosting the African American Book Festival. The event begins at 10am, ends at 4pm, and is free and open to the public. The event will feature keynote speakers, spoken word poetry, and events for kids, including "arts and crafts, face painting and an array of other activities for young book lovers."
Speakers include Leonard Pitts Jr., a columnist the Miami Herald and the author of Before I Forget. It is his first work of fiction. Author, musician, and local ESPN commentator SaulPaul will also be appearing.
Other writers include romance author Farrah Rochon, culinary journalist Toni Tipton-Martin, and more. Some spoken word poetry will take place on the courtyard at two, and the event also features local vendors.
