Hankering for a sweaty dance party before the weekend officially kicks off? New York’s Maluca (a.k.a. Natalie Ann Yemez) plans to deliver just that at tonight’s Wet Hot American Party at The ND at 501 Studios.

Who might this person be and what exactly can you expect, you may ask? Well, she was discovered by Diplo at a karaoke night (no joke) in NYC, and her intoxicating blend of beats mines and combines electro, hip-hop, and a whole host of Latin music genres. She released her irrepressible breakthrough single “El Tigeraso” late last year -- jam it out via MySpace. Pachanga, are you listening? Surely a closing slot for Maluca at next year’s edition of the festival will ensure an explosive finale. We’ll keep our fingers crossed.

But here and now, RSVP on Do512 to get into this shindig for $7. The event is hosted by comedian and breakdancer extraordinaire Misa Soliz, and presented by local trendsetters Knuckle Rumbler, one of our favorite music blogs Ultra8201, and the Travis County Democratic Party, which will be on hand to discuss the high stakes of November’s election.
