MGMT and Tame Impala Almost Surely Will Be Trippy (Giveaway)
Oh, how we remember those days so long ago when MGMT was but an early afternoon show in Waterloo Park, performing songs no one had heard for a crowd of maybe a hundred or so. How we miss those days! Now, even imagining such a scenario is positively ludicrous, what with all the television performances and magazine covers and screaming teens and more hype than even they could probably handle. But for serious, that first album was great, right? And the second album, Congratulations? It may be confusing as hell and completely lacking the sugary sweetness the masses so loved in Oracular Spectacular, but at least it's evidence they aren't content not exploring, right? Either way, their show this Sunday at Stubb's is going to be a blast, and though it's sold out, Austinist's got your back: click after the jump for a chance to win a pair of free tickets!
And here's a tip: adding some additional goodness to the night is the opening act, recent Pitchfork Best New Music validated Tame Impala, all the way from Australia---that means show up early. Excellent.
