Last October's sold-out Dirty Projectors show at Antone's was made all that much sweeter thanks to the talented opening act, Givers, a cheerful Lafayette five-piece with a terrific stage presence.

In addition to gracing this year's ACL Festival, Givers are stopping in at Emo's this evening to convert more of the unwashed masses to their heartland pop via West African grooves. Opening for the band are TV Torso, local boys who make terrific, tight rock songs. They've recently welcomed a new bassist on board, and have an EP or mini-LP "at the pressing plant" which will hopefully be available for sale soon.

Also opening are Searching for Signal, a four-piece specializing in thoughtful, atmospheric tunes that split the difference between post-rock and Sunny Day Real Estate-type emo.
