Band mates Patrick Husband (vocals, guitar and trumpet), Jackson Ellis III (bass, vocals), Travis Larrew (guitar), Rob Edmiston (drums), and Chris Heckendorn (keys, trumpet and guitar), bring a medley of musical backgrounds together for a corset of imagination and pleasing sound.
SuperLiteBike is celebrating the release of their debut album, Away We Go, tonight at the Parish grandiose-style with dancers, a brass band, visuals and live painting by local artist Jessi Clayton. Sequentially from beginning to end, all the songs on Away We Go tell "the story of a girl leaving the planet only to come back and realize that's her home." The collection illuminates elements of the basic human condition: dreaming while remaining grounded, transitions and of course, "keeping up with the Jones' dance moves"."
The group didn't skimp on the opening acts, either. Fatback Circus is a local favorite with bookoos of flare. An act that can only fully be appreciated live, Fatback combines elements of jazz and blue grass, making the scene for wholesome dancing and general good time-having. Don't be fooled though, these guys can bring on the rock like nobody's business—their rendition of "Communication Breakdown" is arguably better than Zeppelin's original.
The Carrots, another local act, will bring a sweet and bouncy beginning to the evening.
One more selling point: portions of the event proceeds and the auctioning of Clayton's finished painting will benefit local youth charity Grounded in Music.
