For Love or Money: Reading Tonight at BookWoman
It cannot be denied that some people will find themselves using love and money interchangeably, as the value of one can often directly effect the other. We live in a society where both are shared, spent, saved or squandered. It can be hard to remember which one is earned and which one was a gift and the confusion can be costly. For Love and Money, tonight's reading at BookWoman, continues to explore the connection between the tangible and intangible in relationships as four talented women writers muse on the topics of love, sex, desire and cash.
For women, both love and money have a tendency to become punishing or liberating and finding a balance between the two can be an arduous task. Ready for the challenge is Austin's Elizabeth Crane (You Must Be This Happy To Enter), Jill Alexander Essbaum (Necropolis and The Devastation), and Chicago's Gina Frangello (Slut Lullabies) and Zoe Zolbrod (Currency), reading poetry and fiction from their most recent books. The reading also marks the first stop on Zolbrod's national book tour and celebration of the release of her debut novel. The reading starts at 7PM and will be followed by a Q & A.
