The fifth annual "Art in the Garden" spring show and sale takes place this weekend, just in time to pick up some handmade Mother's Day gifts. Presented by the Handmade Austin Women collective, this family friendly event boasts an eclectic and high quality mix of craftmanship including milliner and clothing designer Chia, ceramic work from Melanie Schopper and unique handmade jewelry from Jaime Jo Fisher, among others. In addition to handpicked artisans, attendees can enjoy marionette matinees and musical performances throughout the day.

Handmade Austin Women works to promote local economy and cottage industry growth while creating a sustainable environment for women artists in Texas. The group, which originally began with only four members, has been nationally recognized for their efforts. HAW provides a resource for "women in the business of art".

The show will be held at the Ginko Studios on the East Side. For more information, including a full list of participating artists and music showtimes, visit the Handmade Austin Women website.
