Art Week Austin heats up with Pecha Kucha Night Volume 8 this Thursday. In the Starr Building, starting at 8:20 pm sharp, a line-up of 10 local mavens will have just 600 seconds each to provide insights about their respective creative fields. This Tokyo-born tradition keeps things dynamic with a time limit of 20 seconds per slide.

In its eighth Austin iteration and befitting its Art Alliance sponsorship, tonight's roster is replete with artists, but also features the unexpected, a range that includes "manspace" expert, editor and author Sam Martin, to the enterprising brains behind hotspot Lustre Pearl, one Bridget Dunlap. With unexpected and often intimate insights, Pecha Kucha always offers an intriguing glimpse at the creative vision in myriad forms. Art City Austin culminates this weekend, featuring 190 artists.

Presenters:
Kenny Braun, photographer
Eric Bricker, filmmaker
Jennifer Chenoweth, artist
Bridget Dunlap, entrepreneur
Matt the Electrician, musician
Mike Hicks, designer
Sam Martin, editor and author
