Austin Chamber Nominated For Webby Award

The Austin Chamber of Commerce's Austin Now site has been nominated for a Webby Award, one of the longest-running honors for excellence online.

Austin Now is among the nominees in the People's Voice division of the Webbys, where the public is invinted to cast their votes for favorites in categories ranging from media to features to connections.

The chamber's website is up against four other associations in the Society category, defined as sites that "empower and educate people, facilitate civic participation and enable learned pursuits." Also nominated are Downtown Brooklyn: It's the Moment, Hank the Singing Bottle from These Days, Speak Now for Kids, and the Association for Boarding Schools

Local company nFusion built the chamber's site, which pulls in Twitter feeds from locals, links to Austin news, groups, and photos, and offers answers from Austin-based experts.

To vote, go to the People's Voice site, scroll down to Society, and click on Associations.
