SXSW Film Preview: Le Donk & Scor-zay-zee
His love life has crumbled and his plan to be a rock star has yet to take off, leaving roadie Le Donk (Paddy Considine of In America) in need of a big-time change. Enter burgeoning rap star Scor-zay-zee (played by real-life Nottingham rapper Dean Palinczuk), whose career Le Donk hopes to help jumpstart. Will this unlikely duo achieve the stardom they think they deserve? It’s tough to say, but the journey no doubt makes for a few entertaining moments.
Filmed in a mere five days and featuring the help of the Arctic Monkeys, Le Donk & Scor-zay-zee shows that a film doesn’t need a big budget to make you laugh. Improv fans and anyone who likes rooting for the underdog will want to make time in their film schedule for this on-the-fly British comedy with a rock ‘n’ roll heart.
Le Donk & Scor-zay-zee will play on Tuesday, March 16 at 4:45 and again on March 19 at 7:45. View the full SXSW film schedule here.
