UT's Harry Ransom Center Obtains Archives of David Foster Wallace

Adding to what is already a treasure trove of materials from writers including Anne Sexton, Neal Cassady, James Joyce, Don Dellilo, and many more, the University of Texas' Harry Ransom Center recently announced the acquisition of the late David Foster Wallace's archives.

Wallace is perhaps best known for his mammoth, complex and funny novel, Infinite Jest, though his other works attracted both critical and popular notice - his short story collection Brief Interviews with Hideous Men was just turned into a feature film last year by this actor and director.

So, what's in the Foster archive? The official word from the HRC promises "manuscript materials for Wallace's books, stories and essays; research materials; Wallace's college and graduate school writings; juvenilia, including poems, stories and letters; teaching materials and books," and more.

Though we won't be able to see the full archive itself until the fall of this year, some of the collection is available online or in the HRC's lobby.
