It is quite possible that you have never heard of the film Roadie. Hell, we certainly hadn't, and it's possible that the fact it was released the same year we were born might have something to do with it. However, before we tell you anything about it or tonight's screening in the Texas Spirit Theater at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, we are going to make a bold statement: YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE.

And here's why: it stars Meat Loaf. Yes, the rocker who would do anything for love plays a small town boy who stumbles upon a young, fine groupie named Lola Bouilliabase (Kaki Hunter) who is on her own personal quest to meet and lose her virginity to the esteemed Alice Cooper (who appears as himself in the film!). Apparently Meat Loaf, who's called Travis in the flick, thinks that he can win this saucy (yeah, we said it) minx's affections away from said rock god, and sets off across the country with her, working as a roadie for a traveling rock band.

On their journey they meet the likes of Blondie, Roy Orbison, Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, and Hank Williams Jr. Also, they engage in beer drinkin', bar fightin' and lettin' stuff work itself out. James “BigBoy” Medlin (co-writer), Sonny Davis (actor), Alvin Crow (performer) and Jeff Nightbyrd (Location Manager) will be in attendance at tonights screening, and it's quite possible that you should ask them just what the hell they were thinking.

The screening also brings the opportunity of winning prizes, which just adds to the allure. Look what you could get just for showing up:
* Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell CD
* $25 Waterloo gift certificate
* 6-pack of Shiner beer
* AFF t-shirt
* 2 film passes to the 17th Annual Austin Film Festival
* 2 tickets for access to the Bob Bullock State History Museum's exhibit hall
* 2 tickets for access to a screening at the Bob Bullock State History Museum's IMAX theater
* 2 tickets to a screening of WILD TEXAS WEATHER at the Bob Bullock State History Museum's Texas Spirit Theater

Awesome, right?!
