It’s looking downright dreary outside here in Austin, so we see no reason not to take the cue from Norwegian singer-songwriter Sondre Lerche to get winsomely sunny. Pairing Sondre Lerche’s bucolic sound with the warm glow of the Parish’s candelabras may be just the ticket to carry you through the bleak midweek- and a free one at that. Enter your information below for the chance to win a pair of tickets to Sondre Lerche, playing with JBM tonight.

Currently touring in support of Heartbeat Radio, his sixth release, Sondre was nominated Best Male Artist for Norway’s Spellemannpris. His straightforward pop comes with unusually tight compositions; those readers not following this year’s Spellemannpris hype may be familiar with his soundtrack work for the 2007 Steve Carell vehicle Dan in Real Life. Much like Carell’s face, Heartbeat Radio is a heaping platter full of earnestness. JBM is the initials/stage name of Jesse Marchant, the opening act tonight for Sondre Lerche. His 2009 debut, Not Even in July, was recorded in a church studio and warmly received for its haunting sweetness and sterling vocals.
