AMF Presents SXSW Strategies for Success [Tuesday / La Zona Rosa]

Regardless of one’s profession, come mid-March, everyone needs a plan of action when assembling their personal SXSW agenda. Leading up to the fest, fans scour the internet daily for information on that huge official showcase or that one coveted party, and duly compile comprehensive spreadsheets to gauge their angle of attack. Industry folk normally have an itinerary of events they need to attend in order to maximize their investment. And of course, bands plot their (more-than-)a-show-a-day schedules well in advance. If you fall in the last category, local non-profit Austin Music Foundation is offering a free seminar on things to remember as you delve into SXSW this year and tactics that will help you get the most bang for your buck.

The latest AMF Boot Camp, entitled SXSW Strategies for Success takes place on February 2nd at La Zona Rosa and features four worthy panelists. Brent Grulke (Creative Director, SXSW Conferences and Festivals), Randy Miller (Partner, Rainmaker Artists and Primary Wave Music Publishing), Casey Monahan (Director, Texas Music Office), and Paul Oveisi (Owner, Momo’s and Second Floor management; Member, Austin Music Commission) will discuss a whole host of topics including how to reach out to SXSW registrants before the event, mistakes to avoid making as you prepare, what to focus on during the week, key components of a successful showcase, and why following up after the fest is important. The seminar is free and begins at 7 p.m.
