Media coverage of the Haiti crisis has been ever-present this past week, and it has also been overwhelming. For those of us who've already donated financially, watching or listening to the same, still devastating, coverage provides a problem: beyond sending cash (thanks for the straight talk, W), we feel a little stuck.

So if you'd like to transform that anxious energy into something positive, try the Paramount this Wednesday for Turk Pipkin's latest documentary, One Peace At A Time.

Austin's own Pipkin offers excerpts from his Nobelity travels: interviews with Nobel laureates like Muhammad Yunus, visits to foundational schools, groups building community wells, and agricultural projects.

Pipkin's travels offer a short, but empowering, paradigm shift for those of us who are too often fixated in our local lives. The things we take away are simple but uplifting: the majority of the world is incredibly poor; but they require comparatively little to live happily; these projects create results very efficiently, and we can help them succeed.

By visiting these places he does a lot for the credibility of the foundations he, and we, give to. Come see what a small commitment to this thinking, and these projects, can achieve, and send some money to Haiti in the process: 100% of proceeds are going to Architecture for Humanity's Haiti Reconstruction Fund, in partnership with Yele.org.
