Road Trip: White Denim at Padre's Marfa

Austinites who have followed the trajectory of local trio White Denim have had a chance to see them in almost every venue within reason. They've been to Emo's, Mohawk, Antone's ... you name it. Most recently, they celebrated the holidays at La Zona Rosa with Phoenix for a completely sold out crowd. We don't know about you, but the hordes of pop fans at that show kind of made us miss the old days, when the group could be found at a house party as easily as a bar.

Well, just in the nick of time, the group pops up with a very special show -- this time, they'll be at Padre's in Marfa on January 15. The show is made possible through The Texas Commission On The Arts and Ballroom Marfa's Front Row Members, which is why the ticket price is a modest $5, we assume. Even if you just returned from New Year's Eve in Marfa, this show is definitely worth another carpool. Bring some cash - tickets are available at the door only, not online.

Doors will be open at 9, with the show beginning at 9:30 pm. Padre's Marfa is located at 209 West El Paso Street in Marfa. More information at Ballroom Marfa's web site.
