Indieroke's Two Year Anniversary Tonight!

Two years ago, in a vastly different looking Mohawk, an immaculate conception took place: the low hum of electric power combined with Beertunie swilling exhibitionists created an evening of frivolity and joy, all held together by the promise of finding one harmonious chord, one strain that all could sing along to. If we recall correctly, there was only one (maybe two) book o' songs to thumb through at that time, but all would-be singers were patient, knowing that their time to scan the list of possibilities would come. It was intended to be a one-night-only kinda thing, but like smoke in a bottle, once it was released upon this city, it could no longer be contained.

Now, on the occasion of its Second Birthday, we have seen Indieroke grow and flourish into the bull-in-a-china-shop toddler that we always knew it could be. In its very short, yet surprisingly full life, it has seen local garage rockers standing on piano tops, crashing chandeliers, yacht rock captains' hats, stage diving, many, many painful Don't Stop Believin' renditions and more GTs than can be listed in this limited space. If you've never been, we highly recommend you step out tonight. If you haven't missed a single one, then the warm bosom of Indieroke is surely anticipating your return, welcoming you back to the cave of rawk.

As always, there will be much amazing tunage to choose from, whether your tastes lean towards the crooning of The Magnetic Fields and Jeff Buckley, or the jangly jams of T. Rex. Hell, we don't care if you sing I'm a Little Teapot while dousing yourself in Miller High Life, smearing eyeliner all over your face in interpretive dance, as long as you commit to the feeling. There will be prizes for the best female, male and group (boy bands!) singers, but in the end, we're all winners, aren't we?!
