  • The Hole in the Wall is hosting a benefit for Jon Pettis (Bankrupt and the Borrowers) this Sunday starting at 4 p.m. The stellar line-up, which includes twelve local bands, can be viewed on the flyer to your right; the suggested donation of $5 will go towards the Jon Pettis Memorial Fund.

  • If you haven’t made it to Bill Baird’s Baby Blue Studio for a show yet, this Saturday night might be a good time to change that. Sizzling electro-pop from MISSIONS gets the party started, Freshmillions’ funky concoctions keep the vibe going, and the one man show that is Neiliyo ensures you keep your dancing shoes on well into the a.m. hours.

  • No plans for Saturday afternoon? Spend it on SoCo -- you can hit up Home Slice’s Carnival-O-Pizza (Details) and get your fill in the “Extreme Pizza Eating” challenge or test your skills in the “Dough Tossin’ Contest.” Once you’re done with the pie fest, head over to Birds Barbershop for Manfest (Details) and prove your valor in the “Knightly Battles.”

  • All Hail celebrates the release of Truth, Love, War this Friday at Beauty Bar. Obsolete Machines’ lush electro-scapes kick things off, All Hail steps in next with beautiful textures and irresistible melodies galore, and the club’s resident Friday night DJ Prince Klassen takes over after.

  • If you missed KISS’ second farewell tour, or third reunion tour, or whatever, catch the pop-metal legends at the Frank Erwin Center on Friday. You can choose from the KISS Meet and Greet Experience (for a paltry $996), the KISS Premium Ticket Package (a meager $296), or the seats for mere mortals ($49.50 - $126; binoculars not included). Get there early to enjoy Buckcherry classics like “All Lit Up,” “Ridin’,” and “Crazy Bitch.”

Flip through the Austinist Weekend Music Preview Slideshow after the jump for details on a number of events in town this weekend. The Aesop Rock show tonight at The Mohawk has been postponed.
