Shearwater Announce Album Details, Tour

Great news for Shearwater fans - Matador records has announced details about their forthcoming LP, entitled The Golden Archipelago.

First of all, it has been revealed that this is the third in a series of records "about man’s impact on the natural world," which began with 2006's Palo Santo, continued with last year's wonderful Rook, and will end with the 2010 release of The Golden Archipelago.

The album should be out in February, and pre-orders are available now. The CD comes with a "50-page perfect-bound book that is a set of extracts from a dossier of records, photos, regulations and images" courtesy of head Shearwater Jonathan Meiburg, and LP pre-orders will also receive said book. Also, Matador is hosting an mp3 download of the song "Castaways" from the forthcoming album.

The band have some spring tour dates set, so let your Hamburg friends know that one of Austin's finest will be flying through their town after the winter thaws.
