Why We Don't Like You: Kansas Jayhawks

Each week, we'll look at some reasons to taunt, belittle, and bully the Longhorns' football opponent. This week: the Kansas Jayhawks.

Coach Man-jerk-o (Ha!): Kansas head coach Mark Mangino is the subject of an internal investigation into the way he treats players, coaches and parking lot attendants. Now former players are piling on, with one claiming Mangino told him "I'm going to send you back to St. Louis so you can get shot with your homies". (The player's younger brother had been shot in the arm in St. Louis.) One writer thinks Mangino's anger problems are weight-related.
Lightweight Fight: Members of the Jayhawks' football teams and basketball teams mixed it up in a pair of altercations in September. The initial scrap reportedly was over a woman who used to date an athlete from one team and now dates one from another.
Grounding the Owl: KU superfan "White Owl", known to the authorities as 62-year-old Jimmy Tucker, had to miss some recent games because he was in jail for violating a protective order on his 23-year-old fiance.
I Can't Quit You: Even with all of this going on, we still love Baby Mangino.
