"Todd and Don Show" Coming Back to KLBJ, Entire Hot 93.3 On-Air Staff Dismissed

Emmis Austin is bringing back the "Todd and Don Show" to KLBJ in December, changing the format of the morning talk program to focus on "community history, expectations and cultural sensitivity." The show was canceled in July after co-host Don Pryor used a derogatory racial slur on air nearly three dozen times over the course of a single hour's program. The resulting backlash by the community, as well as threats of a boycott of all station advertisers, turned nasty.

In related news, the Statesman reports that the entire on-air staff at local Hip Hop station Hot 93.3 was unceremoniously fired yesterday in a meeting with management. The station is turning to a computer-generated playlist for Thursday and Friday, and then, according to All Access, purportedly switching into a talk radio format.

According to the linked article, the Todd and Don show will return with a "transformed perspective" not a show focusing on community history.

Daddy! Daddy! They fired me from the radio station your liberal friend started a long time ago. Get my job back or I'm going to make my pouty face!

I think 93.3 on air staff being fired. Is stupid.....unbelievable- I just can’t imagine not listening to them. I listen to them all the time.... my morning’s and afternoons will not be the same. Austin radio will not be the same. Boogie, mimi and D train are awesome and make me laugh daily. Bring them back please. I will not be listing to the radio since they will not be on there. KGSR sucks. sorry it does. 93.3 was the # 1 hip hop station and kept Austin a live that’s for sure.

Wow, Shannon's fired up about this.

"Boogie, mimi and D train"

That sounds made up.
