- You might not remember the details from Halloween on 6th Street, but it really happened!
- Be careful what you put on Facebook. That’s especially true if you do super-tacky things!
- Look at the planning for this incredible wedding that was scheduled for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead.)
- Daily Texan slideshow showing the Day of the Dead in Austin.
- Matador Records releasing Casual Victim Pile, a compilation of lesser-known Austin bands. The name is an anagram of ‘Live Music Capital.’
- Sad news: more than 100 animals died in a Killeen shelter fire over the weekend.
- Alleged Ponzi-scheme mastermind “Sir” Allen Stanford lost his knighthood. That’s the least of his problems.

One thing that really offends me during Halloween in Austin is the number of men who dress up as women. I know some may be doing it as a joke, but I find it offensive. This is Texas after all.
I find it offensive when women dress up as men for Halloween.
After all, we all know women can't be airline pilots, cops, fire fighters, or racecar drivers.
Women should only dress as god intended them to be: barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. Or as sluts.
Good effort, HCE - but not even these comments can manage to get a string of comments going on Austinist.
You should have tried invectives about dogs left outside in front of Whole Foods or terrorizing cyclists...
