Each week, we'll look at some reasons to taunt, belittle, and bully the Longhorns' football opponent. This week: the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
- Dez Lied, But Nobody Died: Superstar wide receiver Dez Bryant was hit with a year's suspension for lying about whether he hung out with Deion Sanders over the summer. Technically, no NCAA rules were broken, but Bryant's deceptive comments drew the ire of investigators. Maybe Bryant was just showing what he's learned: when he was held out of a game earlier this season because of the inquiry, OSU told the media that he was out with a hamstring injury.
- Cowboys Forever: This season, the Cowboys debuted a new spirit song to get the crowd fired up prior to kickoff. The result was "Cowboys Forever", a remarkably wimpy ditty that opens with the line “The prairie wind touches our skin, another maverick morning begins.” Fans were unimpressed, saying, "the song resembles the ugly, mongoloid offspring of Cold Play, Kings of Leon, and Tim McGraw."
- Chris Gaines: If OSU wanted a kick-ass song, they should have turned to alumnus Garth Brooks, who was just inducted into the Oklahoma State Alumni Hall of Fame, along with Heisman Trophy-winning running back Barry Sanders and baseball player Robin Ventura, who holds the record for the longest hitting streak in college baseball.
- "I'm a Man!": If Cowboys Coach Mike Gundy went on to win a national championship, a Super Bowl, and a Nobel Prize, this video would still be at the No. 1 spot in his legacy. When a phrase from your post-game rant works its way into pop culture, you've really accomplished something. Watch it again, for the first time.

Robin Ventura also holds the record for "Best ass kicking by a old Nolan Ryan", who afterwards referred to it as "Like branding steers on the ranch".
Anoncow,
I believe that is what Jeff was referencing -- consecutive times hit in the face -- as we all know DiMaggio holds hit streak record.
Barney -
He's talking about college, which he did hold (The Yankee Clipper never played college ball). You are right on him owning the record for most hits in the face and the record for player most remembered for getting their ass handed to them by a old man. People only remember one thing about Robin Ventura: he got took out by Nolan, and it should be a mandatory showing on every ESPN beanball fight highlight reel.
Braves and Mets fans remember the 1999 NLCS walk-off grand slam single that Ventura hit. Still one of the greatest playoff moments in baseball history, especially because of the weirdness of hitting a walk-off grand slam single.
