South Congess Salon Locked Out By Landlord [Trouble in Hairidise]
Customers hoping to get dolled up were instead greeted by a darkened storefront outside Ann Kelso Salon on Monday, as the shop was locked by property owners for failing to pay rent.
Marques Harper reports that a sign was posted on the door yesterday that read, “Tenant’s lease has been terminated due to tenant’s failure to pay rent. As a result, tenant’s possession of the premises is terminated.” The lights remain shut off and the doors locked.
As of Tuesday afternoon, neither shop proprietor Barbara Ann Kelso nor the property owners listed on the notice were returning phone calls to the Statesman. The salon's most recent tweet, an unrelated remark about the Bang & Olufsen opening party in the Second Street District, was last Thursday.
