Fun Fun Fun Fest is just around the corner (November 7th and 8th), so let's get to know a few more of the acts performing. Here we'll look at punkyish stuff from both new hotness No Age and the reunited glory of Face to Face.
You may remember Face to Face from the early nineties punk renaissance that included both MTV regulars The Offspring and the more underground (but no more mature) regulars on the Fat Wreck record label. Face to Face were signed to the latter, but the band also had a big break with their self-titled fourth album, released by A&M records in 1996. The band broke up to work on other projects, but as of last year have been touring and recording together once again. FFFFest has a penchant for grabbing reunited acts, and Face to Face will bring back wistful memories for anyone who came of age to the soundtrack of Tank Girl or stayed up late hoping to catch the video for "Disconnected."

Also Californians, No Age still only somewhat resemble the Punk School of the mid-90s, instead concentrating more on weirdo DIY exercises and lo-fi experiments - though we bet they'd be playing shows with Face to Face at The Smell if they had been in the same graduating class. No Age released their first record in 2007, and have since signed to Sub Pop and released last year's Nouns. The duo - consisting of Randy Randall on guitar and drummer Dean Allen Spunt - enjoy unconventional performance spaces and headgear. Their latest release is an EP entitled Losing Feeling.
