There's no shortage of influential bands performing at this year's Fun Fun Fun Fest, but one that we're extremely excited for is Boston's Mission of Burma. They've been producing since the late '70s, and are one of the most influential post-punk bands around. They're performing at Fun Fest in support of their entire catalog (and hopefully "That's When I Reach for My Revolver") as well as a brand new record, engineered by Bob Weston.

The Sound The Speed The Light (Matador) is full of all the metallic dissonance, epic builders, reflected pieces through tape loops and furious joy Mission fans have come to love. It's a bit of a departure from 2006's Obliterati, but that proves to be a good thing: there's a new openness and chaos here for us to cut our teeth on. Of the new album, Roger Miller says, “Suffice it to say that some of these songs are more of a riot than others, others more somber. All feature hitables and electric instruments like guitars and whatnot. The style seems to be ‘Rock.’ File under ‘Vocal Group with Instrumental’.
