Leslie Cochran Suffers Fall, Believed To Be at Brackenridge in Bad Condition

Local icon Leslie Cochran collapsed in downtown Austin last weekend, and is believed to still be at Brackenridge Hospital nearly a week later.

According to one witness, at around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning, the 58-year-old was seen behaving erratically and fell in front of a taxi. By the time the EMS showed up, he had already lost consciousness, and was transported to Brackenridge. Hospital officials won't officially confirm that Leslie is still there, but KXAN cites two anonymous sources affiliated with the facility, each claiming that he was still there as of this morning.

ATXBS.com, which first broke the news last Saturday, reports hearing from "someone else [who] knows an ER doctor" that Leslie had a stroke and may be in a "vegetative state." With nothing officially confirmed via Seton/Brackenridge, all rumors should be considered as such—regardless, what does seem to be true is that no one's heard from the beloved local celebrity for several days now.
