These Arms Are Snakes, More at Red 7
Beginning their career with an EP out on the emo touchstone Jade Tree back in 2003, Seattle hardcore act These Arms Are Snakes made the not-so-distant move to Suicide Squeeze for last year's full-length Tail Swallower and Dove.
Since then, the band has kept busy recording split singles with their friends Pelican, Russian Circles and Tropics. They're also back on the road, appearing at Red 7 tonight with the bands DD/MM/YYYY and Baron Grod.
Strange and busy, DD/MM/YYYY materialized out of Toronto with a kind of spazzy math rock sometime mid-decade, but they've recently caused more of a commotion with this year's Black Square.
Representing Austin are Baron Grod, Red 7 veterans who have shared the stage with other notable local acts like Magic Jewels and Pack of Wolves. They make heavy, thoughtful rock carried along by nice touches of electronic elements and synthesizer licks.
