Hotel Metrohouse Lets You Sample What Living In a Crate & Barrel Photospread Must Be Like

Some local modern design geeks recently launched Hotel Metrohouse, a nifty alternative to hotels or couch surfing that allows people to rent out super modern, furnished houses.

The four properties that they're currently offering are located throughout South Austin and North Loop, and appear to feature the usual trappings of a cosmopolitan home—polished hardwood floors, weird abstract prints, and Scandinavian furniture. At $180 per night for a 6-person bungalow to $650 for a giant house that can accommodate 13, the prices seem to be competitive with boutique hotel rates around town.

The project is an extension of Metrohouse, a local development company that specializes in contemporary urban housing. From the latter website, it appears that you can also purchase the rental homes.

Cool, I really love Metrohouse homes and the idea of getting more density. I may have to splurge on this sometime in the future.
