Local event planning and PR entity Learning Secrets has secured Barcelona, located on Sixth Street between Brazos St. and San Jacinto Blvd., as the home for its latest residency series. The DJ crew at LS is still furnishing the beats regularly at Lanai but the plan is to bring in guest performers for the Barcelona events. The Wurst Music Co.’s My Cousin Roy was the featured artist when the new residency kicked off a couple of weeks ago.

This Saturday, Learning Secrets presents Annie Mac, club DJ and host of two BBC Radio 1 shows -- Annie Mac’s Mash Up and Switch with Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw. Annie Mac (Annie MacManus) was born in Ireland but moved to England after completing college, sinking her teeth into the radio business in London and eventually striking gold at BBC. Besides her shifts at BBC Radio 1, she releases dance floor ready mixes and curates events regularly under the very apt Annie Mac Presents moniker. You can stream the current edition of Annie Mac’s Mash Up here and Switch here. Or just download her Y.M.A.C Disco Mix and enjoy beats aplenty from the likes of Friendly Fires, Treasure Fingers, and DJ Mehdi. A double-disc mix containing tracks by Dizzie Rascal, The Juan MacLean, MSTRKRFT, Simian Mobile Disco, Miike Snow, Caspa, Junior Boys, and much, much more is scheduled for release in late October on Island Records.

RSVP for $7 entry to Saturday’s dance party at Barcelona.
