Pssst…here’s a little inside scoop we got straight from some Hollywood bigwig. Are you ready for this? Vampires are totally in this year. Um, ok, so this may not be a scoop—everyone with a pulse is watching True Blood, Twilight, or Vampire Diaries. Vampires are totally this year’s zombies. Or animated penguins. Or wait, what movies were big last year? Oh right--super heroes.

But the year’s not over yet, and more vampires are on the way. NOTE: this is not a bad thing. This Saturday at the Paramount you can get a sneak peak of Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Apprentice, the much buzzed-about film starring John C. Reilly, William Dafoe, and Salma Hayek, among others. Brought to you by Fantastic Fest and based on the extremely popular series of young adult novels, this film tells the story of a young man seduced by the excitement and danger of a dark world of freaks.

Apprentice boasts a great cast and some of the best word of mouth around. But there’s more--not only can you see this film almost a month early, the vampire himself is actually going to be there. That’s right, Mr. Reilly, along with costars Josh Hutcherson, Chris Johnson, and Chris Massoglia will all be there to answer your questions…or wave…or at least look good as they brush you off.

Fantastic Fest badge holders get guaranteed admission, but if you don’t have one of those (why wouldn’t you, though? Have you seen their awesome lineup?), you can buy tickets through the Paramount Theater itself. You want to catch this one—we hear next year’s Big Thing is going to be documentaries about linoleum.
