Weekend Music Preview: Motörhead @ Stubb's [Sunday]
Sunday, September 20
Stubbs (801 Red River)
Outside | 6 p.m. | $30

Motörhead’s brand of aggressive speed metal has influenced numerous thrash metal outfits over the decades, including Metallica, who covered four Motörhead songs on 1995’s Motörheadache (and re-released their renditions on 1998’s Garage Inc.). We remember making the effort to see Motörhead in concert when they last performed in Austin (during SXSW 2008, also at Stubb’s), but after a glance at the line wrapped around many a block for that coveted day show, we thought better of it. We won’t be passing up another opportunity to witness the legendary English band in all its glory. You shouldn’t either -- check out Lemmy’s cameo on Young Heart Attack’s cover of AC/DC’s “Get It Hot”, then head down to Stubb’s on Sunday and enjoy a mouth watering bill that also includes Nashville Pussy and Reverend Horton Heat.
