Pecan Street Project Gets $10.4 Million Stimulus Grant

Please note the slanderous attitude about people supporting KUT was written by Paige Maguire. Paige received thousands and thousands of dollars of KUT listener's donation money when she served as the KUT Director of Web Production.
Paige, is that any way to talk to the listeners that paid for your salary?
Without the support of the listeners that Paige is dissing, there would have not been any money to hire Paige. If Stewdaddy wasn't wasting so much money on his news department, maybe KUT could have afforded to keep Paige's job of producing some cool live music videos before axing her.
Um, not that I am one to fight other people's battles for them (aw, hell, who am I kidding. It's the internet after all!) but Paige Maguire wasn't axed. She quit.
They did cut the position, not her. They cut the "Web Production" job from the budget, there is no one that has filled her position because it doesn't exist anymore. Meanwhile that money now goes to paying for NPR news programming. Which sucks because Paige had a creative way to expose new music in Austin.
At any rate, she has moved on to bigger and better things at WOXY.
I certainly didn't intend to slander anyone, I just thought the name of the event was funny. Certainly no indication of where my opinions are personally.
While I do sympathize with KUT's detractors on certain points, I remain fond of everyone I worked with at KUT and value the things I learned there immensely. That is in no small part thanks to the experiences I had with our listening community year round. I wish them all the best of luck.
For the record, I did turn in my 30 day notice long before they eliminated the position. And as a single parent, I did treasure each and every paycheck like you wouldn't believe. I'm sure everyone there feels the same. I have no idea what my salary goes towards now, but I'm sure it's for the best.
