Like South By in September: Bloodshot Records 15th Anniversary Party [Saturday at Yard Dog]

The folks at Bloodshot Records have taken upon themselves to celebrate their QuinceaƱera by reconstructing the singular atmosphere of Austin on one of those spring afternoons so heady, the calendar must read South By Southwest. A worthy project, indeed, if we do say so ourselves.

But since this is a roadshow, rolling through Pittsburgh, Madison, Brooklyn, Boston—you get the idea—Saturday’s Austin gig will be a homecoming of sorts. All the better to toast anniversaries by. Sponsored by Rolling Rock, Bloodshot has promised that magical Austin afternoon formula of free admission, “food, beer, good friends, old friends, new friends, special releases, limited edition merchandise, and music, lots of music.” There will also be plenty of artwork on display in the Yard Dog Gallery by Jon Langford, Exene Cervenka, and Rico Bell.

Headlining Saturday’s shindig with Rico Bell, former vocalist/accordionist for the Mekons, are the Waco Brothers, who’ll make you feel like you need a fake ID again. A bunch of Brits bashing red state thuggery through a bottle-breaking medium of purist country sensibility? We’ll drink to that. Follow the jump for the complete lineup.
