Manikin, The Tunnels, The Ape Shits at Red 7

Shh! Tonight Red 7 is hosting a Super Secret Records showcase, and it's free. Three bands will be performing, and we heard a rumor of BBQ as well.

Super Secret have a large roster that includes so many local, punky bands, including Sparkle Motion, Black Panda and Faceless Werewolves.

The bands performing at this showcase are Manikin, The Tunnels, and The Ape Shits. The Tunnels are a five-piece that makes neo-psychedelic delicacies, such that they've become a touchstone for the yearly '60s-mining Psych Fest amongst peers The Black Angels and Shapes Have Fangs..

Coming at you with post-punk, rhythmic fury are Manikin. We reviewed their Stop the Sirens release in July, and had this to say: "It's loud and abrasive but very carefully put together -- angular buzzsaw guitar licks smash up against the wash of cymbals, but the rhythm section keeps impeccable time -- and each song sounds ready to burst at any moment."

And of course, we'd be remiss not to mention The Ape Shits. The abrasive punk group bring their noise to the forefront and don't care much for delicacy. Brutal, interesting stuff.
