Rich Trumka is from the old school in the US labor movement, having come out of the UMW. While he's no John L. Lewis (and no one else is, or ever will be), he will bring a higher profile for the AFL-CIO in Washington, through YouTube and other contemporary means.
I remember hearing a few glowing reports on PBS about Jones. I was impressed with him and didn't expect a downfall like this. Too bad he had those tiny little bones in his closet.
