In the late sixties, Lee "Scratch" Perry (born Rainford Hugh Perry) was one of the artists whose experimentation and innovations eventually led to the creation of reggae and dub, two genres that defined the sound of Jamaica and continue to inspire both genuine devotees and rank imitators forty years later.
Perry's discography is long and scattered, but we'll summarize: after the landmark 1969 record The Upsetter, the man just hasn't stopped, which has resulted in consistently more experimental albums like 1978's Roast Fish Collie Weed & Corn Bread and last year's Repentance, which featured Andrew W.K. and other unlikely guests.
Perry is seventy-three, but still continues to travel and entertain audiences. Come see a living reggae legend doing what he does best. Austin-based DJ and remix artist Dr. Dubbist will also perform, as will The Mau Mau Chaplains.

Flamingo has really been stepping it up lately, love the venue...
should be ideal for ol' "Scratchy"
Hopefully the Balcony is still Rastafarian/Jamaican themed.
