Tonight: Rude Mechs' Sci-fEye Ball

eyeball09_EyeBallPlanet.jpg The Rude Mechs are known for two things: bold, progressive theater and throwing one hell of a party at their annual themed "Eye Ball" fundraiser. (Who can forget the free mustache rides - on a giant vibrating mustache - at the Magnum P.EyeBall?)

This year's installment is the Sci-fEye Ball, a retro-futuristic kitsch shindig complete with theremin lessons (the instrument of the future), soylent green-themed snacks (eww), and a silent auction of science fiction collectibles. The evening is hosted by Hey Homo's Rebecca Havemeyer and features non-theremin music from DJ Graham Reynolds (Golden Arm Trio). Tickets are $40 for regular folks and $70 for couples, with starving artists sneaking in at $15 a head.
