Weekend Music Preview!

Hi everyone! Grab your earplugs and slap yourself awake - it's the weekend preview!

Los Campesinos!, more at Emo’s
Friday, August 14
Emos (603 Red River St)
$14 in Advance, 10pm, All Ages
[info]

On Friday, we've got an awesome variety of music blaring out across Austin. Perhaps the most notable road show will be at Emo's on Friday: Los Campesinos!, Girls, and the Smith Westerns. You'll remember the hyper-positive Los Campensinos!, the hot shit San Fran indie group Girls, and gritty garage band Smith Westerns. We really enjoyed their split single with Dead Ghosts, and here is exactly what you can expect live.

If you're feeling local, please head over to the Parish, for what promises to be a fantastic bill of Austin bands. You have the gorgeous Balmorhea, the thrashing Ume, and the all-over rock experimentation of Sunset.

Too swanky for you? If so, visit Damonfest 2 at the Scoot Inn, the proceeds of which will benefit wildlife rescue. Here you can witness wild and woolly acts including Whorehound, Baby Dick, and...Jad Fair!

Everyone Knows Everyone 7
Saturday, August 15
The Mohawk (912 Red River)
Doors at 7pm, $10
[info]

Saturday is also going strong. We've got Spin Alley, Forever Falls, She Craves, and The Ars Supernova playing Emo's, and a cool house show at the Cole St. House featuring Teenage Cool Kids, Fegus & Geronimo, The MOMS and Woven Bones.

Plus, if you're feeling like staying out LATE, we have a LATE NITE PARTY with EagleClaw, Dj Orion, L.A.X. and Show Me Tiger!. It takes place at 501 Brushy. It's BYOB, begins at 11:45, and is $5 dollars.

And last, there's the ol' standby - the Everyone Knows Everyone series of parties. It's their summer show, and Recover, Visitors, Frank Smith, Old Coyote, Specific Ocean, Crooks, and some DJs will be getting down at The Mohawk.
