Don't miss the great art events taking place around town this weekend. Here are just a few of the highlights:

After work, celebrate your Friday in style at this month's Blanton B scene art party. Members of the Hideout Theater and Get Up will be performing improv in the museum's auditorium. DJ Starsign and the Learning Secrets will provide musical entertainment while you nibble on appetizers, sip drinks from the cash bar, and make your own art. Make sure to check out Francisco Matto's Latin American modernist exhibit, The Modern and the Mythic and the Lone Star Printmaker retrospective with prints from Jerry Bywaters. The Blanton is also offering their Sizzling Summer Membership Special, and those who join at this month's B scene can take full advantage of the extra perks. B scene starts at 6pm tonight and ends at 10:30pm.

Take some time this Saturday to check out the final days of Memory in Art at AMOA Downtown. Drop in from noon until 4pm for Family Day, with art activities and a presentation from the Austin Public Library. Docents will be on hand to lead public tours of the exhibit.

Over at d berman gallery on Saturday afternoon, artists Jana Swec and Jared Theis will be doing double duty - performing music and discussing their latest show. Swec will sing accompanied by Theis on guitar. The concert and gallery talk kick off at 1pm.

For those who prefer art that is generated on an 8-bit processor, make sure to be at Club DeVille on Saturday night. The Austin Museum of Digital Art is putting together yet another Digital Showcase with music and visual art in the key of geek. Canadian indie dance party rapper, Cadence Weapon, will headline the show. Participating visual artists include Varelsen, a Swedish motion graphic designer, CandyStations, a multidisciplinary artist who has provided visual projections for Wilco, Sufjan Stevens, Calexico, and M. Ward, and Mark Charles Brown from Baltimore's Wham City Art Collective. The show starts at 9pm and costs $10 for general admission and $5 for AMODA members.
