In a surprise move few saw coming, Lindsay Lohan landed a job—a real, honest-to-goodness paid acting gig. Confirmed via Lohan’s Twitter and a plethora of gossip sites, it looks like the crazy bus is about to make a stop. Destination: Austin.
Lohan, best known in recent years for her ability to be a hot mess (stealing, drama with on again-off again girlfriend Samantha Ronson and multiple stints in rehab), has signed on to star in Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming film, Machete.
The film is scheduled to start shooting this month (cast/crew trailers have already been spotted downtown) and is rumored to star Robert De Niro, Steven Seagal and Nash Bridges himself, Don Johnson. Rodriguez chose to write this film after the faux Grindhouse trailer received so much attention. The plot summary on IMDB says something about snipers, assassinations, and Cheech Marin, all of which are secondary to the fact that Lohan is likely going to trash this place like a cheap roadside motel after a Whitesnake reunion show. Face it, Austin, we aren’t ready for this.
Lohan's career looked so bright at the beginning, but some have said that her fall has seemed more cringeworthy and pathetic than those of others. And who knows? Maybe Lohan’s stay in Austin will be uneventful. In any case, consider this advance notice to prepare for potential chaos, paparazzi traffic jams and spray tan shortages.

I hope she used an alias. "Ivana Flashmuff" would be appropriate.
What is it about film people and the Omni? That's the only damn hotel they ever use for anything!
It's a relatively nice hotel that is never sold out and doesn't cost as much as the Driskill/Stephen F/Four Seasons? That's my only guess.
I suppose...I mean, it almost seems like they would do better subletting one of those condos above the Hilton since they're gonna be there for two months or whatever.
Aw, guys, come on! Danny Trejo is the star of the movie. Hell, he's the TITLE CHARACTER in the movie. Lohan, DeNiro, etc. are in supporting roles.

she's got a room in the omni for the next 6 weeks. whether or not she stays there or with cranky KEB is another story, but she definitely has a room.
Ouch! I'm kinda disappointed in this. I always thought of Austin as being above the gossip. It's kind of a retreat for celebrities, is it not? We definitely don't have paparazzi, and I don't think the locals really care too much about celebrity status. Who knows if she's really as much of a mess as the media makes her out to be? I think we should welcome her and anyone else coming to town. God knows there are plenty of train wrecks already in the neighborhood, so who are we to point fingers? Puh-lease!
Wattage - how is is "cranky" to restate the fact that she was spotted in LA at the time you claimed she checked in? Sorry if you are somehow offended and taking this personally. I never said it wasn't possible to have her "people" check-in for her.

Fair enough. When I posted my comment, she definitely had a room reserved for 6 weeks. I work as close as you can get to the Omni without working for the hotel, which is how I found it out.
I don't really care but I'd rather hang out with her than most people at Beauty Bar- I bet her stories are more interesting than talking about a fixed gear bike. :)
